The workshop will be an exploration of collective ideas inspired by the group but aiming at working on a short-filmed project that each participant will have on ending the process as a starting point. This could be a solo work, to continue interest and experience in using moving image to create and to explore ideas and the camera in relation to creation. The participants should arrive at the workshop with some ideas that will be extended to a five-minute work that will be developed and filmed. Come with ideas, movement material and perhaps some image/visual feel of the work or a theatrical idea to begin working.

Andrew Kean-Hammerson has been teaching and performing for many. He worked with movement exponents with varying influences and styles like the Scottish ballet, Sue MacLennean, Greg Nash, Lucy Bailey, Julia Bardsley, Scott Clark, Suzie Ater, Edward Lam and Holger Dreissig in Munich. Andrew toured internationally with Dv8 Physical Theatre as a research project. He was known in his early career as an exponent of live art working with Phillipa O’Connell as part of the live arts festival run by Niki Milligan, Martha Carter and Lin Snelling. He worked independently as a choreographer making his own work and performance and has collaborated with many artists and performers through his career. Over the years, he has formed his own approach to movement and body awareness in relation to the performer. He does not teach conventional dance but more specifically teaches something that both a dancer and an actor or performers of various disciplines can participate in and gain inspiration from.
