Theatre of the Oppressed Training for experienced practitioners

This is a 5-day advanced training in the art of facilitating Boal-based theatre work. Much of the time in this workshop will be for participants to practice leading each other under the guidance of 2 highly experienced “Jokers”.

Monday March 3rd to Friday March 7th, 10 am to 1pm - Set up as a pseudo-scientific laboratory, participants must propose an idea for a solo performance that will then be subjected to various constructive and deconstructive experiments, emphasizing risk and play, in an open and dynamic atmosphere. The idea can be drawn from the discipline of one's choosing (dance, theatre, poetry, video, music, installation, etc.). A public performance will be presented at the end of the workshop.
