Why become a member?

Members are the backbone of the RAIQ, maintaining and supporting the association’s mandate, providing leadership and governance. As a member-run organization, the RAIQ’s operations are transparent and open, carried out by an annually elected Board of Directors and the various project committees.

RAIQ members – professionals practicing or presenting in the interdisciplinary arts – come from a wide variety of artistic backgrounds including literature, dance, music, theatre, spoken word, visual art, film, video, media art, community arts, and performance art.

Membership advantages include:

  • Being affiliated with the only province-wide association dedicated to the development of the practice and awareness of interdisciplinary arts;
  • Representation of inter-arts practices in the public and political arena;
  • The privilege of being involved in an association, contributing to the richness of collective thinking and action;
  • Involvement in the creation of the evolving mission and mandate of the RAIQ;
  • Participating in the many meetings, committees, training, and activities organized specially for members of the RAIQ;
  • Receiving pertinent news and information of interest to the RAIQ via email newsletter;
  • Access to resources, advice and information as provided by the RAIQ;
  • Easy and independent access to the RAIQ website (which includes a personalized profile page, active notices board, and discussion groups);
  • Participation in skills development workshops designed especially for the RAIQ membership.

Membership Categories




MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

REGULAR MEMBER ($5.00 - $50.00). This category includes individuals and companies. Any individual interdisciplinary artist or company of artists who has produced interdisciplinary work and has a history of public presentation in professional contexts can become a regular member by submitting an application to the corporation, the aforementioned pending acceptance of this application by the administration and the member’s ability to pay the obligatory annual fee. The individual member has the right to vote during general assemblies and may be elected to an administrative position within the corporation. The company member may select a delegate to represent the company during general assemblies at which time the delegate has the right to vote and may be elected to an administrative position within the corporation.

INTERN MEMBER ($5.00 - $50.00). Any emerging interdisciplinary artist who has publicly presented at least one work in a professional context can become an intern member by submitting an application to the corporation, the aforementioned pending acceptance of this application by the administration and the member’s ability to pay the obligatory annual fee. The intern member has the right to vote during general assemblies and may be elected to an administrative position within the corporation.

PRESENTER MEMBER ($50.00). Any presenter that shows the work of interdisciplinary artists and companies can become an presenter member by submitting an application to the corporation, the aforementioned pending acceptance of this application by the administration and the member’s ability to pay the obligatory annual fee. The institutional member may select a delegate to represent the institution during general assemblies at which time the delegate has the right to vote and may be elected to an administrative position within the corporation.

AFFILIATED MEMBER ($5.00 - $50.00). Any individual, company or institution whose work falls outside the parameters of interdisciplinary practice or such fields represented by the corporation can become an affiliated member by submitting an application to the corporation, which – pending acceptance by the administration and the ability of the member to pay the obligatory annual fee – does not allow the affiliated member the right to vote nor to be elected to an administrative position within the corporation.
