Mandat
Depuis 2005, le NT2 a pour mission de promouvoir l’étude, la création et l’archivage de nouvelles formes de texte et d’œuvres hypermédiatiques. Afin de répondre à cette mission, le NT2 poursuit 3 objectifs de recherche :

Développer des stratégies inédites de recherche en arts et littérature;

Un Observatoire philosophique du numérique

Le CIAM

Le CIAM mène ses activités depuis 2002. Il présente une programmation ciblée sur les arts médiatiques et dont les chercheurs ont recours aux technologies de pointe, tant numériques que photoniques, électroniques ou mécaniques. C’est au CIAM que ces chercheurs trouvent le noyau de recherche qui favorise la transversalité des savoirs et des pratiques en arts médiatiques permettant de transcender leurs questionnements en un lieu commun.

Créée en 1997, la fondation Daniel Langlois pour l'art, la science et la technologie est un organisme charitable privé dont les activités ont une portée internationale.

La fondation vise l'avancement des connaissances humaines par l’entremise du soutien à la recherche dans les domaines artistiques, scientifiques et technologiques. Le questionnement sur l’interdépendance que nous entretenons avec notre environnement technologique de plus en plus omniprésent est au coeur de l’approche de la fondation.

THE VISIBLE CITY PROJECT

The Centre for Performance Research (CPR) is a multi-faceted theatre organisation located and rooted in Wales, working nationally and internationally. CPR produces innovative performance work: arranges workshops, conferences, lectures and masterclasses (for the professional, the amateur and the curious); curates and produces festivals, expositions and exchanges with theatre companies from around the world; publishes and distributes theatre books, as well as the journal Performance Research, and houses a resource centre and library that specializes in world theatre and performance.

Computer-driven media are changing our environment, delivering images, sound and kinetic objects with ever greater density. Given that increasingly complex information technology verges on the limits of intelligibility and manageability, we face the challenge of building and inhabiting our spaces in ways that can make sense to us individually and collectively. How can we build rich responsive environments for shelter, sociality or play?

matralab is a research space of inter-x art at Concordia University in Montréal. We are dedicated to using interdisciplinary art practice to bridge the gap between emerging art forms and their aesthetic reflection.

Our research is leading to the establishment of a practical and theoretical framework for the creation and evaluation of interdisciplinary, intercultural, intermedia and interactive art.

Performance as Knowledge

This working group focuses on how performance can be a mode of knowledge, how performing is a mode of creating, tracing, disseminating, and articulating knowledge. More specifically, we are examining:

1. What are the correlates (not certificates) of intentionality in collective gesture? How do movements slide between non-intentional and intentional? How can we characterize collective - individual gesture?
